I am an avid coffee drinker! As a child to Dominican parents, I would have a coffee and toast for breakfast every day. In high school, we had one assignment to review our weekly expenses and wow did I drink so much coffee! I have had the opportunity to have lunch outside and would get TRENTA’S at Starbucks (now boycotting forever, if you know you know).
Growing up in a Dominican household, we have always sworn by our Imusa Moca pot. We still use it to this day. As I have gotten older, the jitters have become more uncomfortable. I began to reduce the amount of coffee that I had been consuming. I went from a full 4 cup moca pot and reduced myself to just 10 oz of coffee a day. During this time, COVID had hit NYC and I was definitely one of the first in my family to have it. I worked in a company where a few co workers had arrived from China early December. I was still avidly consuming coffee daily and the jitters where just getting worse. I couldn’t see a day without coffee as it was a comfort drink. I would wake up in the mornings and like auto pilot make my mini moca pot to feel that soft warmth of coffee as I drank it. I tried different brands along the way.
